A Visit to Regulatory Body of Poland

The delegation of the Georgian National Communications Commission under the guidance of the Chairman of the Commission, Irakli Chikovani, paid a visit to the Republic of Poland. Within the framework of two-day visit meetings were held at the Office of Electronic Communications of Poland. Irakli Chikovani met with the Polish colleague Magdalena Gaj.

Parties agreed to collaborate in 2012 on the following issues: easy Internet access, exchange of experience in the process of transition to digital television broadcasting, radio-frequency spectrum management and support for infrastructure issues, such as construction and operation of radio monitoring laboratory.

The conference and seminar will be held in Warsaw on May 9-10, 2012 under the aegis of the European Union.  The delegation of the Georgian National Communications Commission will attend the conference and seminar at the invitation of the Office of Electronic Communications of Poland.

The visit was carried out within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Regulatory Bodies of the two countries. The Memorandum of Cooperation between the Georgian National Communications Commission and the Office of Electronic Communications of the Republic of Poland was drawn up in 2011. Representatives of the Georgian National Communications Commission visited twice the Republic of Poland and they learned about different issues of interest to them. Both parties consider that the bilateral cooperation to date has been positive and hope for stronger relations in the future.

The delegation of the Georgian National Communications Commission was the first foreign delegation at the Office of Electronic Communications of Poland since Magdalena Gaj was appointed as the President of the Office.
