Today at the session the Georgian National Communications Commission commenced public administrative proceedings to make changes and amendments to the Resolution N3 of March 16, 2007 on the Approval of the Georgian National Communications Commission Charter.

Basis for commencement of public administrative proceedings were changes made to the Law of Georgia on Broadcasting on October 9, 2013. According to the changes, Chairman of the Commission is elected by the Commission itself, with the majority of Members, because of this the Commission made a decision to make changes and amendments to the Resolution N3 of March 16, 2007 on the Approval of the Georgian National Communications Commission Charter to define procedures for electing Chairman.

According to the old version of the Law of Georgia on Broadcasting Chairman of the Commission out of five Members of the Commission was assigned by the President of Georgia.

Hearing session of the issue will be held at the Georgian National Communications Commission on February 27, 2014. The session is public.
