The Georgian National Communications Commission gave a warning to cable transit broadcaster - private entrepreneur “Zurab Mamukelashvili” i.e. “Ateni TV” at the session held today.

The company was retransmitting the following channels “National Geographic”, “English Club”, “Euro Sport” and “CNN” through its cable network without any authorization.

Private entrepreneur Zurab Mamukelashvili, who himself attended the session, presented the authorization for retransmission of only one channel “Euro Sport”. The company director admitted the violations.

After examining the proofs the Commission took the decision to impose sanctions on private entrepreneur “Zurab Mamukelashvili”.  The company was charged with immediate discontinuance of unauthorized retransmission of “National Geographic”, “English Club” and “CNN” as from the date of the entry into force of the Decision.
