ComCom Trains 120 Students on International Safer Internet Day

The Communications Commission has joined the International Safer Internet Day, which aims to promote positive and safe use of digital technologies and the internet. As part of the initiative, ComCom media literacy trainer Ana Gvetadze conducted educational meetings in schools.

The meetings were attended by 120 public school students of II and III grades, who learned the rules of safely navigating the internet through the “Happy Onlife” app. The app is regarded in EU countries as one of the most effective media literacy projects, and helps parents and teachers to actively pursue the development of the children’s media literacy skills and protect them from cyberbullying. “Happy Onlife” is available free of charge on iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as personal computers.

The Media Literacy Department of the Communications Commission has been caring for the development of media literacy among teenagers, parents and teachers for over 5 years.
