The conference named as “Round Table for Interested Parties - in Preparation for Transition to Digital Broadcasting” was held on the initiative of USAID and IREX. Representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Security Council of Georgia, non-government organizations, broadcasting companies and media attended the meeting.

At the conference interested parties were given an opportunity to make a speech or make their presentation. Parties spoke about the possible positive aspects and challenges during and after the process of transition to digital TV broadcasting.

Within the framework of one-day conference attendees agreed that a working group will be created on the initiative of Georgian Government and the representative of the Government as well as the Georgian National Communications Commission, non-government organizations, broadcasting companies and media will be involved in it. The purpose of the group shall be the process of transition to digital broadcasting with involvement of all interested parties to be implemented transparently.
