Georgian National Communications Commission is hosting a two-day conference within the framework of EaPeReg Network Project

Today, on February 10, 2015 at 9:00 pm, in the Tbilisi Marriott Hotel, the Chairman of Georgian National Communications Commission Mr.Vakhtang Abashidze has opened a two-day conference within the framework of Eastern Partnership Project (EaPeReg).

 Main focus of the conference will be the support mechanisms for development of broadband (Internet) services and the European experience in this direction, including regulation.

 Eastern Partnership Electronic Communications Regulators Network (EaPeReg Network) unites six countries - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. GNCC became Chairman of EaPeReg Network on December 2014 and will head the Network for a year, in accordance with the statute, the duty of Vice-Chairman of the organization is to be imposed upon EU member country, this time- the Swedish regulatory authority.

 Besides EaPeReg Network member countries, the representatives and experts from regulatory authorities of Sweden, Germany, Portugal, Poland, Romania and Lithuania also visited Georgia to attend two-day conference in order to share European experience in the field of electronic communications.

 EaPeReg Network, financed by the European Union assists member countries in development of the field of electronic communications.
