Georgian Parliament elects Ekaterine Imedadze and Natia Kukuladze as Members of Communications Commission

The Parliament of Georgia has elected Ekaterine Imedadze and Natia Kukuladze as new members of the Communications Commission. They will replace current members Eliso Asanidze and Merab Katamadze and will serve for a six-year term as members of the Commission.

The new members are current employees of the Communications Commission. They have many years of experience in the telecommunications sector.

Ekaterine Imedadze has been working at the Communications Commission since 2019. She has 12 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, working both for Georgian and international companies. Ekaterine Imedadze holds an MBA degree from the Bradford University School of Management, and is proficient in blockchain technologies. She hold a master’s degree in Physical Sciences and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence Modelling and Applied Mathematics from Tbilisi State University. She is fluent in Georgian, English, German and Russian.

Ekaterine Imedadze held various leading positions at VEON over a period of 11 years. She was the Global Reporting Project Manager at the company’s Amsterdam office. Prior to that, she held the positions of Financial Control and International Accounting Manager and Head of International Control and Risk Management at the company. She also led the financial departments at several leading private firms in the telecom sector, focussing on project management, process transformation and digitalisation, financial reporting and analysis, risk management and process auditing. Her wealth of experience will greatly contribute to the effective the development of the telecommunications sector. 

Natia Kukuladze has been serving as the Head of Media Literacy Development Department at the Communications Commission since 2019. She has 18 years of experience in strategic communications management. During her career, Ms Kukuladze headed the strategic communications departments at the Government Administration of Georgia, Ministry of Education, Public Service Development Agency, as well as in companies such as Redix, Tbilisi Water, the Institute of Polling and Marketing, and others. She is also active in the academic sector, lecturing on strategic communications at the Business and Technology University. Ms Kukuladze holds a bachelor’s degree from the Tbilisi State University, and a master’s degrees from the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs and the US National Academy of Public Affairs. She also received accreditation in marketing management from the Netherlands Institute of Marketing and the European Marketing Confederation. Natia Kukuladze underwent internships at the UK Government Communication Service and the US State Department. She also completed the certificate programme in leadership development at the Harvard Business School. She is fluent in Georgian, English and Russian.

The terms of  current members of the Communications Commission Eliso Asanidze and Merab Katamadze are due to end on 18 March.
