Georgian side to hold presentations for high – level guests before official opening of WTIS – 2014 Symposium

 

In Tbilisi, on November 23, at 10:30 am, in the hotel “Radisson Blu Iveria,” before official opening of the 12th World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Symposium – WTIS 2014, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, National Statistics Office of Georgia and Georgian National Communications Commission will hold presentations on the current situation and development in the ICT sector in Georgia.

On October 24, 2014 at 9:00 am, the 12th World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Symposium will be officially opened by Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili. In the scope of three – day symposium, the following issues will be discussed:

·       Report by International Telecommunication Union (ITU) - Measuring the Information Society 2014

·       Discussion on 2015 development agenda and future priorities for ICT for development (ICT4D)

·       Discussion on the use of Big Data

·       Discussion on data quality in ICT statistics, approaches towards open data policies, and progress of the work for ICT for development (ICT4D)

·       Discussion on results of the work of the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI) and the Expert Group on Household indicators (EGH)
