In accordance with the decision of GNCC, an entity authorized for transit of broadcasting “Imer TV” Ltd has been fined in the amount of 9 000 GEL.

Company was re-transmitting following channels without proper licenses and permits; “Imedi,” “Ertsulovneba,” “Enki Benki,” TV Pirweli,” “Silk-Universal,” “ Saperavi TV„Nick Jr,“ „ORT”, „РТР планета,“ “Ю,” “THT 4,” “TV 3,” “RU TV,” “Fashion TV,” “Travel,”  “Футбол 2,” “Футбол 3,”  “National Geographic,”  “Nat Geo Wild” and “Discovery Science”.

After examining the issue, the Commission has considered, that “Imer TV” Ltd has violated the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, the WIPO Copyright Treaty, and the Georgian laws “on Copyright and Related Rights " and “on Broadcasting.” For the past year, written warning and fine in the amount of 3 000 GEL was already issued on company for the violation of same content, therefore, due to the  continuous breaches, the company was fined in the amount of 9 000 GEL and in accordance with the Commission’s decision, legal entity has been assigned to immediately stop an illegal re-transmission of the above-noted broadcasting channels.
