International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has a new Secretary-General

On October 23rd, International Telecommunication Union (ITU) held elections for a Secretary-General. Zhao Houlin was elected to head the ITU for the next four years.

In Busan, Republic of Korea, during the current Plenary session (October 20th through November 7) the Deputy Secretary-General of ITU will be also elected alongside the leading members of various departments.

The Commissioner of Georgian National Communications Commission Irakli Moseshvili and the head of the Commission’s Informational-Analytical department Rati Skhirtladze are currently attending ITU’s Plenipotentiary Conference. In addition, the head of the Communications Division and Information and Innovation Technology department, as well as the Informational Communications Department of  the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia-Eka Kubusidze and the head of LEPL “ Georgia’s Technology and Innovation Agency”-Irakli Kashibadze are also attending the conference.
