International Telecommunications Union (ITU) is working on a project to create a trunk line interactive digital map
The Georgian National Communications Commission has joined the International Telecommunication Union on a project to create a trunk line interactive digital map.
The Commission has already started work to create an interactive digital map. By the commission’s decision, the forms have been developed for the relevant statistical information for license holder and authorized persons in electronic communications and broadcasting sectors. The statistical information included in the forms will take effect starting September 1, 2014. Legal or natural persons subjected to the regulations of the Commission must fill out the forms electronically before september 25,2014.
After processing the information received from the authorized and the license holder persons, the Commission will create telecommunications trunk line interactive digital map of Georgia which later will be combined with the world telecommunications interactive digital map designed by ITU.
Within the framework of the project, the Commission will create Georgia’s fiber-optic and relay lines digital interactive map on its analytical portal. The digital interactive map will make it possible to access information about what are the dynamics of the development of the telecommunications infrastructure in the country. It will also provide substantial help in the process of internet coverage not only for existing telecommunications operators, but for the potential investors as well.
