GNCC has issued the written warning on “Media Center for Open Abkhazia” NNLE (Abkhazetis Khma) for violating the rules of commercial advertising.

Based on monitoring carried out by the Commission’s Broadcasting Regulation Department, it has been concluded, that the violation of sponsorship, commercial advertisement and product placement violations took place through the air of “Media Center for Open Abkhazia” NNLE (Abkhazetis Khma).

Also, the company has placed the commercial video of “Crystalbet” with  participation of Dimitri Oboladze – the anchor of news program “Kurieri”
of the company “Rustavi 2” (sports section).

In accordance with Georgian laws “on Broadcasting” and “on Advertising,” it is prohibited to make a direct call for the product acquisition or give a product an excessive importance while placing the product (goods/services) into the program. Also, the participation of news, social-political and pre-election debate program anchors and journalists in the commercial ad and teleshopping is prohibited as well.
