GNCC has examined four radio channels of “Radio Holding Fortuna” Ltd (Ar Daidardo, “Fortuna +, “Fortuna and AvtoRadio) and has concluded, that the company had been placing commercial ads violating the rules, due to which, the holding has been sanctioned with a written warning.

 Commission’s Broadcasting Regulation Department has carried out the monitoring of “Radio Holding Fortuna” Ltd (Ar Daidardo, “Fortuna +, “Fortuna and AvtoRadio) on January 18-19, 2016, and has studied the legality of the placement of commercial ads and product placement. Based on examination, it has been revealed, that though the air of “Radio Holding Fortuna” Ltd’s radios, during the sponsor indications in several programs, the goods/services had been described in such form, that noted characteristics carry direct call for the acquisition, supply and consumption of goods/services.

In accordance with the Georgian law “on Broadcasting,” it is prohibited to make a direct call for the acquisition, supply and consumption with specific indications on goods and/or services. 

The Commission has reviewed an issue at the public session along with the representatives of “Radio Holding Fortuna” Ltd. After studying the evidence in relation to the issue, the Commission has concluded, that the company violated Georgian law “on Broadcasting” which is why it has been sanction in the form of the written warning.
