GNCC has issued the written warning on “Samautskeblo Sakhli” Ltd (Radio Shanson) for violating the rules on sponsorship.

On January 25, 2016, the Commission’s Broadcasting Regulation Department, for the purpose to control sponsorship, commercial ad and product placement rule protection, has examined “Samautskeblo Sakhli” Ltd (Radio Shanson). Based on monitoring, it has been revealed, that number of programs placed through the broadcasting net of “Samautskeblo Sakhli” Ltd (Radio Shanson) contain sponsorship direct calls for the acquisition, supplement or use of goods/services.

After publicly reviewing the issue, the Commission concluded,  that there is an obvious violation of paragraph 3 of Article 67 of the Georgian law “on Broadcasting” according to which, it is prohibited to make a direct call and special reference on the acquisition, supplement or use of goods/services while placing the sponsorship.
