GNCC has left the joint application of JSC ”Silknet” and “Caucasus Online” Ltd in regard to the prior consent related to the merger of these two companies shares without examination.

The Commission has launched public general administrative proceedings regarding prior consent of the merger of shares in accordance to the decision of August 11, 2015. In order to conduct the research, the companies were given the period of time within September 20, 2015, to submit all the necessary information. Based on the information requested, the Commission had to study the probability of possible restriction of competition on internet network services of the wholesale and retail market segment in case of the merger of the companies, and would further discuss whether to grant prior consent or not based on this information. However, none of the companies have submitted the information as requested per Commission, therefore, the Commission did not examine their application and has ceased  general public administrative proceedings.
