The chairman of Georgian National Communications Commission Mr.Vakhtang Abashidze held a meeting with the representatives of an Italian company „Telecom Italia Sparkle.”

An Italian company „Telecom Italia Group, “included in the list of world’s top ten global Internet providers (Tier 1), by means of „Telecom Italia Sparkle“ which manages company’s international activities in Georgia, South Caucasia and in region, has expressed its interest towards wholesale market of internet services.

The company, along with Turkish communications company “Turkcell” and JSC “Silknet,” plans to launch operations in Georgia and to create point-of-presence (Pop) - regional point in order to connect with internet resources in Tbilisi. The Memorandum of Understanding between the companies has been already signed.

The purpose of the meeting was to get familiarized with the current legislation in the field of electronic communications and to clarify the issues related to the regulation. The parties agreed on further cooperation.
