GNCC has begun public administrative proceedings based on the application submitted by Ltd “GDS TV” for the purpose of modifying company owned broadcasting licenses.

Ltd “GDS TV” explains in the statement, that based on a survey of Tbilisi’s population, it was revealed that residents of the capital prefer to watch news bulletins and social-political programs. In addition, based on a data provided by companies specializing in TV ratings measurement, it was determined that high watchable scale is more common among TV broadcasters holding general broadcasting license.  The company believes, that it will be able to attract advertising revenue more effectively while holding the general broadcasting license.

The Commission, considering the justified requirements, began public administrative proceedings for the purpose to modify the company owned NoB15 and NoB125 broadcasting licenses from specialized (entertaining) into general broadcasting.

The public hearing session regarding the issue will be held on November 20th, 2014 at 16:00 pm. The Commission will come up with decision regarding the modification of the licenses within 10 working days from the  date of public hearing session
