The Georgian National Communications Commission imposed sanctions on Magticom Ltd, Geocell Ltd and Mobitel Ltd at the session held today. Agreements on mobile phone service concluded between the mentioned companies and their consumers did not conform to the requirements of the Law of Georgia on Electronic Communications and the “Regulations on the Rules of Provision of Services and Protection of Consumer Rights in the Sphere of Electronic Communications”. When concluding agreements subscribers were not informed about the basic terms of service provision (service tariffs, terms of limitation and termination of service and others).

Geocell Ltd and Mobitel Ltd were given a warning, but Magticom Ltd was imposed a fine in the amount of 30 000 GEL.

The Commission explains that Magticom Ltd was already sanctioned during the last year, namely Magticom Ltd was given a warning by the Commission’s Decision N 784/18 of December 16, 2011, that’s why in accordance with legislation the company was imposed a fine – punishment envisaged by the law.
