News Formats and Marketing on the Radio – Media Academy Workshop for Radio Journalists

The Media Academy of the Communications Commission held a two-day workshop for radio journalists on the subject of news formats and marketing on the radio. Eleven journalists from Georgian radio broadcasters took part in the training.

The first part of the workshop was devoted to radio reporting, news and radio programme production, while the second part dealt with the concept of radio, strategy and marketing. What is modern radio, have the storytelling techniques changed, how are radio programmes produced, and what role does marketing play? These are some of the issues that were addressed by experienced trainers Lela Kunchulia, Irina Tevdorashvili and Niko Nergadze during the workshop.

At the end of the workshop, participants were issued with certificates by the Media Academy.

The Media Academy employs the successful BLM model of practical teaching to enhance the qualifications of media representatives, journalists, media managers and producers.

The Media Academy is actively working on providing television and radio studios with technical equipment. Technical works are due to be completed in autumn, followed by a series of short seminars, as well as 3-6 month long practical learning courses for media representatives.
