The Georgian National Communications Commission imposed fine in the amount of 500 000 GEL on the Russian Federation Public Broadcaster “ОРТ Первый Канал”.

The Russian TV company carried out unauthorized broadcasting activities on the occupied territories of Georgia. Pursuant to the “General Administrative Code of Georgia”, article 144N, part five, unlicensed activities on the occupied territories of Georgia is fined in the amount of 500 000 GEL. In case of repeating similar activities the Georgian National Communications Commission is authorized to impose fine in the amount of 1 000 000 GEL on the Russian Public Broadcaster.
