The Georgian National Communications Commission imposed fine on the Russian TV companies.

 “ОРТ”,  ”НТВ”, ”ТВ-Центр”, ”Россия” and ”Культура” carried out unlicensed broadcasting activities on the occupied territories of Georgia. This is an infringement of the part 4, 5 and 6 of the article 144N of the”General Administrative Code of Georgia” and the article 6 of the Law of Georgia “on Occupied Territories”.

The Georgian National Communications Commission has already imposed fine on the TV companies:”НТВ”,”ТВ-Центр”,”Россия” and ”Культура” and required immediate cessation of unauthorized broadcasting activities on the territory of Georgia. The Public Broadcaster of Russian Federation “ОРТ” was fined for the third time. That is why in case of ”НТВ”,”ТВ-Центр”,”Россия” and ”Культура” the fine amount was 500 000 GEL pursuant to the “General Administrative Code of Georgia”, but “ОРТ” was fined in the amount of 1 000 000 GEL.
