“PricewaterhouseCoopers Central Asia and Caucasus B.V” will calculate the price value for mobile wireless broadband service frequencies

 

Commissioned by GNCC, the consulting services in order to determine the price value for 800/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz range  frequency resources will be provided by “PricewaterhouseCoopers Central Asia and Caucasus B.V’s” branch in Georgia.

The Commission announced a tender for consultancy services on August 12,2014.The participants were 4 companies: “DotEcon Ltd,” “Detecon International,” SBR-net and Consulting AG,” alongside with “PricewaterhouseCoopers Central Asia and Caucasus B.V’s” branch in Georgia. Based on tender and qualification requirements, PricewaterhouseCoopers Central Asia and Caucasus B.V’s”-branch has won bidding the best price.  

The contract between GNCC and the winner company will be signed on September 9, 2014. The company is required to submit within a period of 5 weeks from the signing of the contract, the initial  price value calculation methodology for 1 MHz range mobile wireless broadband services recognized in European Union.

As a reminder, in accordance with “The Law of Georgia on Electronic Communications," in order to ensure the radio frequency spectrum liberalization in compliance with the changes made in August, GNCC will  hold an auction to implement new (LTE) frequencies mobile broadband technologies.

The methodology developed by PricewaterhouseCoopers Central Asia and Caucasus B.V’s”-branch in Georgia for the Commission, will be used to determine an initial value in issuing new licenses for the use of radio spectrum as well as, for extension of the term of already issued licenses.
