The Georgian National Communications Commission imposed a fine on a cable operator  - private entrepreneur “Zurab Mamukelashvili” i.e. “Ateni TV” at the session held today.

After checking it was ascertained that the company was retransmitting the following channels “Teleimedi”, “Deutshe Welle” and “TV 5 MONDE” via its cable network without any authority.

The representative of the company presented the authorization for retransmission of the channel “Teleimedi” at the session held at the Georgian National Communications Commission. As for the foreign channels, the private entrepreneur “Zurab Mamukelashvili” was charged with discontinuance of illegal retransmission of “Deutshe Welle” and “TV 5 MONDE” till receiving the corresponding authorization.

The Georgian National Communications Commission took a decision to impose sanctions on private entrepreneur “Zurab Mamukelashvili” within the framework of the administrative proceedings. The company will have to pay a fine in the amount of 3 000 GEL.
