74 Radio Broadcasting licenses had been modified
GNCC, in accordance with the amendments made in the Georgian law “on Broadcasting” on June 17, 2015, has carried out the modification of 74 radio broadcasting licenses.
In compliance with the amendments made in the law, open procedure for the issuance of licenses for the use of radio frequency spectrum in order to ensure radio broadcasting has been maintained the same. In accordance with the same changes, the broadcaster chooses broadcasting language/languages. Also, specification of the technical parameters in separate licenses has been implemented.
In accordance with the amendments made in the Georgian law “on Broadcasting, GNCC, in order to ensure the modification of the radio broadcasting licenses and their compliance with the law, had a deadline up until January 1, 2016. At the public hearing session held on December 24, 2015, the Commission has reconciled the terms and conditions of all 74 licenses in compliance with the Georgian law “on Broadcasting.”
