Resolution on “Regulations of Media Involvement in Electoral Process and its Application” Approved by GNCC

The Georgian National Communications Commission approved the Resolution on “Regulations of Media Involvement in the Electoral Process and its Application” at the session held today.

The Commission commenced public administrative proceedings to adopt the document on July 18, 2012. Draft document was accessible to public on the Commission’s website on August 9, 2012. Any concerned person had a possibility to express his opinions and comments regarding the Resolution.

The Resolution on “Regulations on Media Involvement in Electoral Process and its Application” Is based on Article 51 of the Organic Law of Georgia “Election Code of Georgia”. The purpose of the document is to define rules of media participation in electoral process and its application.

Representatives of Georgian Young lawyers Association, Georgian Media Legal Protection and Levan Mikeladze Foundation attended the public discussion. They participated in the discussion process.
