GNCC has issued a written warning on “Sky Caucasus” Ltd for the illegal re-transmission of certain broadcasting channels and for the alienation of shares without Commission’s prior consent.

“Sky Caucasus” Ltd, an entity authorized to broadcast, has been examined by the Broadcasting Regulation Department of the Commission. As a result, it became clear, that the company was distributing following broadcasting channels without proper permits and licenses: “1^st Channel of Public Broadcaster,” “Imedi,” “2^nd Channel of Public Broadcaster,” „Starvision,“ „Перец,“ „Music Box,“ „Пятница,“ “Eurosport,“ “Eurosport 2,“ “РЕН ТВ ” “Discovery,” „ID,“ „DTX (discovery world)” “Discovery,” “Cartoon Network,”“Setanta sport,”,„Дождь,” „Animal planet.”

Administrative proceedings have also revealed, that changes in the founding documents of “Sky Caucasus” Ltd have been made without Commission’s prior consent, which is the violation of the law “on Electronic Communications.”

In accordance to the Commission’s decision, “Sky Caucasus” Ltd has been assigned to immediately cease an illegal re-transmission of above-mentioned channels, and has been given 10 working days in order to fully submit documentation envisaged by law to the Commission.
