Storytelling Techniques on Social Media – Media Academy Workshop for Journalists

The Media Academy of the Communications Commission held a workshop for journalists representing television companies and online publications on the subject of storytelling methods on social media. Journalists worked with an experienced trainer on using modern technologies to create multimedia products and placing them on social media platforms in an effective manner. The training course addressed specific issues such as coverage strategy, audience analysis and storytelling methods that achieve high engagement on social media. A total of ten journalists took part in the training session.

As the number of internet users grows, the importance of social media as an information platform continues to increase. This represents a challenge for traditional media, as social media audiences and storytelling forms differ from those of traditional media sources.

While the Georgian media is actively working to address these issues, social media continues to change and evolve. New technologies are being implemented. It is therefore vital for journalists to catch up with the changes and obtain additional knowledge that is essential for their work. The two-day Media Academy workshop, which was conducted by experienced and qualified digital media trainer Giorgi Gogua, provided media representatives with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge.
