The application deadline for a contest announced by GNCC for issuance of a license in radio broadcasting has expired.

The application has been submitted by 5 companies in total. Among those companies, 3 tried to obtain licenses in private general radio broadcasting in hometown – Ltd “Media Stream,” Ltd “Art Radio” and Ltd “Caucasus Business Week.” In borough Gudauri Ltd “Radio Center Plus” (radio Palitra) will be competing to obtain the license in private general radio broadcasting in 103.9 MHz frequency band.  As for the license in private specialized (entertaining) radio broadcasting in 104,7 MHz frequency band, Ltd “Media Stream” will be competing for victory also in borough Gudauri.

GNCC has announced a contest for issuance of 7 Radio licenses in broadcasting based on a decision made in August 21, 2014. However, the applications have been received in 3 geographical units only. None of the companies have submitted applications in the contest announced for licenses in radio broadcasting in following cities: Kutaisi, Zugdidi and Telavi.

The preparatory meeting for radio broadcasting contest where the sealed documents submitted by participant entities in hometown and borough Gudauri will be opened publicly, will be held on September 25, 2014 at 13:00 pm. The public hearing is scheduled for October 24, 2014. The final decision of the Commission regarding broadcasting concepts submitted by participants in the contest will be published. The contest session will be held on October 27, 2014 at 13:00 pm where the winner in  radio broadcasting license contest in all 3 geographical units will be revealed.
