GNCC has not satisfied the complaint of “Magticom” Ltd requesting to sanction “Mobitel” Ltd, (the same brand as – Beeline) for the placement  of an improper advertisement.

“Magticom” Ltd believes, that an ad about 4G services by “Mobitel” Ltd, the same as “Beeline” is improper and damaging for the competitor company. “Magticom” was requesting that the Commission would examine noted issue and respond accordingly.

On a session held at GNCC, the Commission has discussed the ad about 4G services placed by “Mobitel” same as “Beeline,” heard the positions of broadcasting regulation and legal departments, as well as, the conclusion of Public Defender’s Office and the positions of opposing mobile operators.

After the essential discussion of the issue, the Commission has determined that an ad by “ Mobitel” same as “Beeline” was not of an improper nature, although, in accordance with the Georgian Legislation, the Commission has no administrative authority to draw a protocol for commissioning an improper advertisement, therefore, the request of “Magticom” Ltd has not been satisfied.
