GNCC has begun to study the information spread by media concerning the launch of the broadcasting by “Sputnik” in 101.4 MHz frequency band.

According to data from departmental registry of GNCC, company “ Sputnik” is not a broadcasting license holder, nor the authorized undertaking.

In accordance with data provided by the same registry, the radio broadcasting license in 101.4 MHz frequency band belongs to Ltd “R – Radio.” The noted radio broadcaster’s license type is general broadcasting which implies the broadcasting of news and social-political programs.

In order to study the issue, the Commission has already requested from Ltd “R – Radio” one week’s continuous record of the broadcast net to study its compliance with licensing conditions, as well as, the copy of the agreement with “ Sputnik.”

Based on highly anticipated public interest, the study of an issue and the final decision will be made public by the Commission.
