The meeting was held at the Commission between field representatives and the representative of ITU

Meeting has been held at GNCC with International Telecommunication Union (ITU) related to the project of Big Data processing. The project coordinator Margus Tiru provided current large operators in the field of electronic communications and representatives of public offices with detailed information.

The main goal of the project is to gather number of subscribers and revenues in the field of broadcasting and electronic communications and in general, collection processing of information about directions of development in the field of electronic communications and further, implementation of new data processing methodology.

An information obtained through the implementation of new Big Data processing methodology shall serve as an important indicator and will help state, as well as private companies in making various strategic decisions for development, for assessment of existing situation on the market,   and will be a helpful tool while planning effective marketing campaigns and implementing innovative services.

Pilot program will be held in six countries selected by ITU- South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Georgia, the Philippines, Kenya and Colombia. GNCC to be a focal point of the program.

On a first stage, based by the recommendations and instructions of ITU, the Commission will request statistical information from the company by means of new methodology which will be processed in the Commission and later transferred to ITU.

Selection of Georgia in the Big Data project by ITU once again proves the fact, that in terms of data collection and processing, Georgia is considered as one of the leading countries among 193 member countries of ITU.
