Three-day Seminar Organized by IREX and USAID Held at the Georgian National Communications Commission

 

Three-day seminar organized by IREX and USAID is over today. The final meeting was held at the Radisson Blue Hotel. The representatives of the Georgian National Communication Commission, IREX, USAID, Georgian Association of Regional Broadcasters, Georgian Media Enhance Democracy, Informed Citizenry and Accountability (G-MEDIA) and Media Advocacy Coalition attended a round-table discussion. The attendees discussed the topic “General and digital Television: changes in Georgia”. The two days out of three-day seminar were held at GNCC. The representatives of IREX and USAID met with the Members of the Commission, Heads of the Departments and the Commission staff. Internet regulation, Copyright and neighboring rights protection on the Internet, consumers’ rights protection and advertising regulation were discussed at the meetings. Besides, the participants discussed the topics such as broadcasting licenses, including Internet television, cable and satellite broadcasting, digital broadcasting and impact of technological change - western perspective.
