TV Advertising Revenues for the Second Quarter of 2020
Despite the increase in television advertising revenues during the first quarter of 2020, it was clear that the COVID-19 pandemic would affect the advertising market.
Total advertising revenues for television companies during the second quarter of 2020 amounted to 12.2 million GEL. Television advertising revenues include commercials, sponsorships, product placements, announcements and teleshopping.
Television advertising revenues during the second quarter of 2020 for each broadcaster were as follows:
Teleimedi – 5.4 million GEL
Rustavi 2 – 2.1 million GEL
Mtavari Arkhi (Main Channel) - 1.3 million GEL
Pirveli - 0.8 million GEL
GDS TV - 0.5 million GEL
PosTV - 0.4 million GEL
Formula - 0.3 million GEL
RBG – 0.2 million GEL
Setanta Georgia – 0.1 million GEL
Maestro - 0.1 million GEL
Others - 0.9 million GEL
COMCOM predicts that despite the negative results caused by the pandemic, the advertising assets of the commercial sector will balance out the losses. Therefore, unless there is a second wave of COVID-19 in Georgia, end-of-year losses on the advertising market will not be substantial.
