Visit of Houlin Zhao, ITU Deputy Secretary-General

 

The Georgian National Communications Commission hosts Houlin Zhao, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

Meeting with Houlin Zhao, ITU Deputy Secretary-General will be held at the Georgian National Communications Commission on October 17, 2013, at 13:00. The meeting will be led by Karlo Kvitaishvili, Chairman of the Commission. Commission Members and Heads will also attend the meeting with ITU delegation.

The purpose of the visit is to discuss the issues within the framework of present and future cooperation between the Ministry of Economics and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Georgian National Communications Commission and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

International Telecommunications Union (ITU) was founded in Paris in 1865 as the International Telegraph Union. In 1932 it got its present name and became a specialized United Nations agency in 1947. Georgia became a member of the Union on January 7, 1993, by the Ministry of Post and Communications. The Georgian National Communications Commission, as regulatory authority, has been in collaboration with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) since its foundation in 2000.
