ComCom Media School Studio Hosts Intensive Learning Course for People Interested in Journalism

The Media Academy of the Communications Commission is hosting a four-month intensive practical course by the Media School Studio. The course serves to allow the 15 participants to fully master the profession of journalism and create a diverse media portfolio, which will give each of them a unique opportunity to start and develop a career in this field. The course includes both theoretical and practical work in the field of journalism, which will allow graduates to independently create a high-quality media product. 

As part of the course, students will learn the following: preparing radio newscasts, stories and podcasts; the art of the cameraman; speech and television skills; preparing and delivering news for radio, television and online platforms; audio editing and sound direction; preparing non-informative television stories and programmes; TV montage; preparing, producing and conducting interviews for radio and television; creating a TV network; as well as formatting, production and social media journalism. 

The subjects will be taught by industry professionals such as Head of Information Service at Rustavi 2, talk show host and presenter Nino Shubladze; Rustavi 2 presenter Davit Kakulia; Media Director of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB), Rusudan Manjgaladze; GPB producer Ekaterine Talakhadze; GPB journalist Teona Managadze; GPB cameraman Giorgi Kasrashvili; Head of GPB Sound Group, Maka Kuchaidze; Imedi journalist, reporter and filmmaker Mariam Bakuradze; Imedi editor Nana Ugulava-Janisiani, verbal and non-verbal text management trainer at Imedi, Tamta Tsintsadze; and Digital Marketing Manager at ComCom Media Academy, Lasha Darbaiseli. 

The Media School Studio has all the necessary equipment to provide students with practical experience of working in a real news room. The course started on 9 September and will run until 27 December. 

Media School Studio students underwent a three-stage selection process. The best candidates were chosen based on a written test and interviews. The Media Academy will issue successful graduates with a certificate and recommend them to potential employers. 

In order to raise media standards in the country, the Media School Studio of the Media Academy is offering persons interested in journalism a unique opportunity to gain knowledge and experience free of charge.
