The Communications Commission continues to actively implement the Digital Support Programme in the municipality of Gori. The programme aims to develop the residents’ digital skills and promote the purposeful and safe use of the internet. More than 50 training sessions have already been held as part of the programme, benefiting over 1,000 local residents.

The programme covers the following 17 target villages and settlements in the municipality of Gori: Adzvi, Akhalsheni, Khelkts’euli, Khordi, Kvemo Akhalsopeli, Kvemo Shavshvebi, Marana, Nadarbazevi, Natsreti, Satburis Dasakhleba, Shertuli, Tedotsminda, Tergvisi, Tsitsagiantkari, Varianis Meurneoba, Zemo Rekha and Zemo Sobisi. Through the training sessions, local residents acquire the practical skills needed to use the internet safely and effectively. In addition to the course on basic digital skills, the programme offers training sessions on “AI Literacy” and “Internet for Employment”. These modules enable participants to explore modern AI tools, their practical applications, and the role of digital technologies in professional development and employment. The training sessions are tailored to different target audiences and are attended by representatives of the municipal administration, teachers and students from higher and vocational education institutions, socially vulnerable people and internally displaced persons, as well as small business owners.

The Communications Commission has been implementing the Digital Support Programme since 2022. To date, the programme has reached more than 350 villages and settlements across 23 municipalities in Georgia, with the total number of beneficiaries exceeding 16,000.

The Digital Support Programme is part of the Log-in Georgia project, which is being implemented to support the State Internetization Programme. The project aims to expand access to high-quality internet for people living in rural Georgia and promote the effective use of digital services. Log-in Georgia is co-financed by the Government of Georgia and the World Bank.
