In 2023, 561,000 Natural Person Customers in Georgia Used the 30 MB/Sec Internet Package, while 245,000 Used the 25 MB/Sec Package

According to the 2023 Activity Report of the Communications Commission, the 30 MB/sec package is the most popular fixed broadband package in Georgia, while only 10,000 customers (1% of all natural person customers) used the 100 MB/sec package. In comparison, 55% of households in Europe use a 100 MB/sec or faster package. This data echoes the results of the benchmarking study, based on which the use of high-speed fixed internet is limited for Georgian subscribers due to high prices.

The report states that the 30 MB/sec package remains the most popular fixed internet package among natural person customers in Tbilisi. The number of users of this package increased by 14,000 to 268,000 in 2023. The 25 MB/sec package is still the second-most popular package, even though the number of users fell by 2000 to 109,000 in 2023. The 20 MB/sec package was used by 5000 customers (11,000 less than in 2022), while the number of customers using the 35 MB/sec package increased by 7000 to 25,000. The number of customers using the 50 MB/sec package grew by 4000 to 25,000, while the fastest 100 MB/sec package was used by 8000 customers in Tbilisi in 2023 (1000 more than in the previous year).

As for the regions, the 30 MB/sec fixed broadband package is also the most popular one outside the capital, accounting for 292,000 customers (6000 more than in 2022). The number of users of the 25 MB/sec package increased by 2000 to 136,000, while the number of customers using the 20 MB/sec package increased by 2000 to a total of 27,000. The 35 MB/sec package was used by 19,000 customers (13,000 more than in 2022). The number of customers using the 50 MB/sec package increased by 1000 to 7000. As for the 100 MB/sec package, the number of users in the regions fell by 2000 to a total of only 2000.
