The winners have been revealed of the contests announced for the issuance of radio broadcasting licenses

GNCC has announced the winners of the contests announced for the issuance of radio broadcasting licenses.

In the city of Tbilisi (FM 92.3) “Momkhmarebelta Sakuradgebod” Ltd became the holder of a radio broadcasting license. 3 companies attempted to obtain radio broadcasting licenses in the home town - “Momkhmarebelta Sakuradgebod” Ltd, “TV Style” Ltd and “Akhali Radio” Ltd. In the process of public administrative proceedings “TV Style” Ltd has withdrawn its application and as a result, the contest went on composed with 2 contestants only. The Commission, based on an essential review of the issue and mutual comparison of the contestants’ broadcasting concepts, has decided, that within proposed themes, as well as  in the scope of the diversity of the same themes and the degree of quality of coverage of all social groups - Momkhmarebelta Sakuradgebod” Ltd had to be announced as a winner.

 

Rustavi - (FM 97.8) radio broadcasting license has been obtained by “TV-Radio Company of Kvemo Kartli.”

Zugdidi - (FM 96.3) and Akhalkalaki (FM 106.2) radio broadcasting licenses have been obtained by “Media Group” Ltd.

Senaki – (FM 97.9) “Indepenfent TV-Radio Company Odishi” has been revealed as a winner.  

Igoeti township (Kaspi Municipality) - (FM 90.5) Radio broadcasting license has been given to “Radio Holding Fortuna” Ltd.

In accordance with the contest’s terms and conditions, all of the 6 broadcasters have become holders of private general radio broadcasting licenses. The minimum licensing term requirements have been also defined, consisting of at least 2 themes – news and social-political programs, at least 18 hours broadcast during day and night.

 

On the contest session held on January 15, the identities of two new community broadcasters became known as well:

N(N)LE “ the First-Called Georgian University of St. Andrew of the Patriarchy of Georgia” – Akhaltsikhe - 100.7 FM; Akhmeta - 93.3 FM; Batumi - 105.4 FM; Gori - 105.4 FM; Dedoplistskharo - 94.3 FM; Zugdidi - 105.4 FM; Tbilisi - 105.5 FM; Lentekhi - 105.4 FM; Mestia - 105.4 FM; Senaki - 88.1 FM; Stepantsminda - 105.4 FM; Tkibuli - 90.4 FM; Poti - 104.7 FM; Kutaisi - 87.9 FM; Kvareli - 94.5 FM; Tsalka - 105.3 FM; Khulo - 105.4 FM.

N(N)LE “"Center for Civic Activities" – Duisi township (Akhmeta Municipality) – 101.1 FM.
