100 Beneficiaries of SOS Children’s Villages Trained during the Media Literacy Week

As part of the media literacy week, the Communications Commission has trained about 100 beneficiaries of SOS Children’s Villages in identifying fake information and safely navigating through the internet. Training took place in Tbilisi and Kutaisi.

During the training, youngsters received full information and detailed instructions about safe use of the internet. They learned about the different types of information available online, and how to protect themselves from harmful effects of the internet. They also familiarized themselves with the methods and tools for identifying fake news in the media. This training will help them deal with the potential threats and negative effects of disinformation and fake news.

The seminar also provided to the youngster information about the project “Davita,” which aims to improve media literacy with the help of computer games and digital tools.
