116 Training Sessions and 1700 Trained Beneficiaries – ComCom Concludes the Digital Support Programme in Sachkhere
The Communications Commission has concluded the Digital Support Programme in the municipality of Sachkhere. Due to high interest and demand compared to other municipalities, the Commission conducted the most training sessions (116) for the unprecedented number of 1,700 local beneficiaries. The certified trainings were conducted for the local population in the target settlements completely free of charge. The training modules included “Digital Literacy,” “Safe Use of the Internet,” “Artificial Intelligence Literacy,” and “Internet for Employment.”
The target settlements in the Municipality of Sachkhere are: Argveti, Bakhioti, Chala, Chalovani, Chikha, Darka, Ghona, Itavaza, Jalaurta, Jria, Korbouli, Kveda Orghuli, Kvemo Khevi, Mokhva, Nigvzara, Perevi, Sareki, Bajiti, Shomakheti, and Tskhami. Participants included school and vocational school teachers, pupils, university students, Town Hall representatives, city council members, administrative service employees, kindergarten employees, librarians, medical professionals, housewives, people with disabilities, local entrepreneurs, temporarily unemployed persons, and others.
During the trainings, beneficiaries were introduced to such important issues as finding the desired information online, using Google applications, using social media platforms with purpose, innovative AI tools and their effective use, integrating AI into the professional development and employment process, using AI as a personal assistant in the employment process, as well as the potential challenges and cybersecurity in the era of artificial intelligence.
The Digital Support Programme, which has been implemented by the the Communications Commission since 2022, aims to teach the rural population the targeted and safe use of the internet. Any person residing in the target settlements, aged 14 and above, can participate in the programme free of charge. The Communications Commission has already trained more than 14,000 beneficiaries from over 300 target villages and settlements in 20 municipalities.
