“Become a Media Literacy Trainer” – ComCom Announces New Competition
The Communications Commission, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the National Center for Teacher Professional Development (TPDC), is announcing the first edition of the “Become a Media Literacy Trainer” competition.
The project aims to train qualified media literacy trainers who will apply the knowledge and experience they gain in educational settings and contribute to the development of media literacy competencies among various target audiences.
Anyone with experience in teaching, delivering training, or conducting educational activities and an interest in media literacy may participate in the competition from 7 September to 21 September.
As part of the competition, the 10 successful candidates will complete a specialised Training of Trainers (ToT) programme and receive the status of certified media literacy trainer.
To participate in the competition, candidates must hold at least a bachelor’s degree, have experience in teaching or other educational activities, and possess knowledge and/or practical experience related to media literacy.
Experience in teaching media literacy or digital literacy, participation in educational projects, developing learning materials, and working with different age groups or professional audiences will be considered an advantage.
Applicants wishing to take part must complete a registration form, where they will find the application requirements and submit a CV, a copy of a document confirming higher education, a 2–5-minute motivational video on the topic “Why Do I Want to Become a Media Literacy Trainer?”, as well as relevant certificates and a professional portfolio, if available.
