ComCom Announces a Contest for General Radio Broadcasting Licenses in 6 Geographical Zones

In accordance with the Law of Georgia on Broadcasting, the Communications Commission has announced a competition for private general radio broadcasting licenses. The competition covers six broadcasting service areas: Tbilisi, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Racha, Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, as well as Zemo Svaneti and Guria. 

The competition was requested by LLC Akhali Radio in order to obtain a general radio broadcasting license in the city of Tbilisi. As for the other five zones, the Communications Commission deemed it appropriate to announce a competition due to the lack of radio broadcasters. 

The deadline for receiving applications from license seekers is 11 July 2025, 17:00. The preparatory session will be held on 16 July 2025 at 13:00, where the sealed documents of the contestants will be publicly opened and uploaded to the website of the Commission (https://comcom.ge/ge/). The oral hearing session will be held on 14 August 2025 at 13:00. The competitive session, where the winning companies will be announced, will be held on 21 August 2025 at 13:00 in the meeting hall of the Communications Commission.
