ComCom Chairman Goga Gulordava Takes Part in the 64th EPRA Meeting
Chairman of the Communications Commission, Goga Gulordava, took part in the 64th meeting of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA). The meeting addressed one of the key challenges facing today’s media environment: declining public trust in the media, its impact on the information landscape, and ways in which regulatory authorities can respond to this challenge.
During the thematic sessions, participants discussed ways to strengthen public trust in the media, the role of digital platforms, and the development of effective regulatory strategies to address existing challenges.
Participants also shared practical examples related to public trust in the media and the protection of minors online. They reviewed the work of EPRA’s thematic working groups and discussed the platform’s strategy for 2027–2029. A discussion was also held on the activities of organisations holding permanent observer status at EPRA.
The 64th EPRA meeting, held in Dublin, provided an opportunity for member regulatory authorities and platform observers to exchange updates and experience in the audiovisual sector and discuss areas for cooperation.
The European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA) is a network of broadcasting regulatory authorities established in 1995. It brings together 56 regulatory authorities from 47 countries. Georgia joined the EPRA network in 2013.
