ComCom Conducts Monitoring of Cross-Border Telecom Services together with Representatives of Azerbaijan

Representatives of the Department of Spectrum and Technology of the Communications Commission, together with the employees of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan (MDDT), carried out joint cross-border monitoring of TV and radio broadcasting and mobile communication networks. Afterwards, the parties held a coordination meeting was in Ganja, which was devoted to discussing the issue of effective operation of radio stations and mobile networks in the border area. Head of the ComCom Spectrum and Technology Department Sandro Karumidze took part in the meeting along with other ComCom employees. 

The joint cross-border joint monitoring found no harmful interference and established that TV and radio broadcasts are carried out in line with the terms of coordination between the two countries. 

During the coordination meeting, which was also attended by specialists from Georgian and Azerbaijani mobile operators, an agreement was reached between ComCom representatives and MDDT employees to ensure the smooth operation of existing and future FM radio stations in the border areas. In addition, the sides discussed joint activities for better coexistence of mobile operators' networks in the border areas, as well as the ongoing work related to the transition to 5G technology in both countries.
