ComCom Finds POSTV Guilty of Reporting on a Public Opinion Poll in Violation of the Law

The Communications Commission has drawn up a violation report against POSTV for covering a public opinion poll in violation of the law.

The monitoring conducted by the Commission revealed that on 11 September, the broadcaster covered a public opinion poll in violation of the law. Specifically, POSTV published the poll without indicating who commissioned the poll or whether the poll was paid or free. According to the Election Code of Georgia, when reporting the results of a public opinion poll, the broadcaster must indicate the person who commissioned the poll, whether the poll was paid or free, the organisation conducting the poll, the date of the poll, the polling method, the exact wording of the questions used, and the potential scope of error.

The Communications Commission found POSTV to have violated the law and issued the broadcaster with a violation report.
