Communications Commission member Ivane Makharadze held a public lecture at Batumi State University on the subject of “Media Environment and Media Regulation” in order to raise awareness about the telecommunications industry among young people.

During the lecture, participants learned about the current media environment in Georgia and the country’s media policies, the areas regulated by the Georgian legislation, what is needed to start TV and radio broadcasting, the challenges facing Georgian media, and the role of the Communications Commission in media development. 

ComCom has already held informational meetings about the media and telecom industry at five Georgian universities, and will organise similar events at other universities across country in the future.
