The Communications Commission held a public lecture for students at Sokhumi State University on the subject of “Media Environment and Media Regulation,” the aim of which was to enhance the knowledge of young people about the telecom industry.

The lecture was presented by ComCom member Ivane Makharadze, who provided the audience with detailed information about the current media environment in Georgia. During the meeting, the students learned about the country’s media policy, the requirements for starting TV and radio broadcasting, the areas regulated by the Georgian legislation, the challenges facing Georgian media, as well as the Commission’s role in media development. 

The Communications Commission will hold informational meetings about the media and telecom industry at other Georgian universities in the future.
