ComCom Holds a Lecture on Media Literacy at TSU

Communications Commission member Ekaterine Imedadze held a public lecture at Tbilisi State University on the subject of “Media Literacy Development in Georgia” in order to raise awareness about media literacy among young people.

Through practical exercises, students learned about the methods for detecting fake news, distinguishing truth from fiction and establishing real facts. They were also given examples of disinformation, misinformation and malinformation. Other important topics of discussion included the significance of media literacy, the challenges faced by Georgia and the rest of the world in this regard, as well as the role of the Communications Commission in the process of media literacy development in Georgia, and the projects implemented thus far.

ComCom will continue to organise informational meetings on the subject of media literacy at other universities across Georgia.
