ComCom Hosts Representatives of the Bahraini Regulator

The Communications Commission hosted representatives of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to deepen cooperation and share experience. As part of the working visit, ComCom was visited by the Director of Market and Competition, Director of Technology and Network Security, and a representative of the International Relations Department of TRA. The meeting was opened with welcoming remarks by ComCom member Ekaterine Imedadze and TRA Director of Market and Competition Mohamed Yusuf Al-Binali.

During the working meetings, TRA representatives discussed the activities of the Bahraini regulatory body and the telecommunications sector. More specifically, they reviewed the current market trends, challenges and regulatory practices. In addition, they shared their approaches to combating fraud in the digital space with the ComCom staff. In turn, ComCom representatives shared information about the Georgian telecommunications market, regulatory practices and strategic projects, including the holistic study of the telecom market, as well as the study on the development of IP peering and IXP.

At the end of the meeting, the parties summarised the issues discussed and discussed the opportunities for deepening their cooperation.

In 2024, the Communications Commission signed a memorandum of understanding with TRA to enhance cooperation and facilitate information exchange. Close cooperation with fellow regulators, industry representatives and stakeholders is one of the priorities for the Communications Commission.
