ComCom Launches “Digital Support Programme” in Tsageri and Lentekhi

The communications Commission has launched the Digital Support Programme in the municipalities of Tsageri and Lentekhi, holding informational meetings with deputy mayors of target municipalities, administrative employees, Town Hall representatives, the local population and stakeholders.

Within the framework of the programme, seminars on digital literacy and safe use of the internet will be held in 25 target settlements of Tsageri and Lentekhi municipalities. With the help of specialists, participants will learn how to search for information, create and use e-mail, use Google Maps and Google Translator, share locations, use online communication tools and detect fake news.

Since 2022, more than 4200 beneficiaries from 151 villages of the municipalities of Ozurgeti, Khelvachauri, Kobuleti, Chokhatauri, Samtredia, Ambrolauri, Oni and Abasha have been trained as part of the Digital Support Programme in digital literacy, safe use of the internet and the use of state electronic services. The programme is currently being implemented in the municipality of Zugdidi.

The Digital Support Programme is part of the Log-in Georgia project, which is co-funded by the World Bank and the European Investment Bank. It is being implemented to support the Georgian State Internetization Programme. The project aims to provide around 500,000 people in 1000 villages and rural settlements in Georgia with access to affordable high-quality internet services, as well as to help develop digital skills and facilitate the use of digital services.
